In collaboration with the creators of the arena spectacular Walking With Dinosaurs, Pocket Bonfire joins forces with The Creature Technology Company to produce a beguiling adaptation of the Penguin Books 1980’s classic storybook, There’s a Hippopotamus on our Roof Eating Cake.
Nine-year-old Zoe (Portia Bradley) lives with a shower-singing, bike-riding, cake-eating hippopotamus. But with Zoe getting older, outlooks diverge about her best friend’s residence on their roof.
This live-action interpretation brings a new angle to the much-loved Australian story.
As Casting Director, I cast beloved Australian comedian Angus Sampson (Where the Wild Things Are, Fargo), actress Bridie Carter (McLeod’s Daughters), actor Terry Camilleri (The Truman Show, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure), and newcomer Portia Bradley (Underbelly) for an all-star cast of Hazel Edward’s classic children’s book.
