What did we do first day of 2014?

I crashed at my friends Chris and Jasmine’s house where we all spent New Years. We watched the New York countdown on TV – and woke up to a cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs. Definitely a good start to the year.

We had lunch at Pita Jungle during happy hour when all plates were $1-2. We got this whole table of food for $20. For three of us.

In the afternoon my family head out to the Desert Botanical Gardens to see the Chihuly glass exhibition. The gardens are filled with lights, people and kinda cool glass sculptures, and we wandered the gardens in the dark with hot chocolates.

Afterwards we head out to Aunt Chiladas for dinner, an awesome, fairy-lit, outdoor Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale that featured in Will Ferrell’s film ‘Everything Must Go’. I saw it all lit up with its fountains in the film and knew I had to go there – well we finally did and had the BEST, FLUFFIEST, SOFTEST fresh corn chips I have ever had. They are thick and filled with oil and DELICIOUS. I ate three bowls.
