In the days leading up to my departure, I’ve tried to live life in Melbourne with as much vitality and energy that I can muster. I’ve filled every day with life, love, laughter, dancing and exploring.

Today was a CBD day. Melbourne CBD is full of so much positive community spirit. Buskers, public areas, art, flashmobs, exhibitions, street food – you can find anything on the streets of Melbourne. We spent the day wandering the streets, taking photographs, visiting the famous Library reading room, the shot tower in Melbourne Central.

We joined in an African drumming class. We visited the RMIT graduate photographic exhibition. We ate Adriano Zumbo’s milo chocolate bars, sticky and melting in the 33 degree heat.

We had a picnic of pastries and salad on the lawns of the library. We walked down alleyways and looked at graffiti.

In the evening, we took a tram down towards the banks of the Yarra River to visit Good Food Month Night Noodle Market. Packed with some of Melbourne’s top Asian restaurants and chefs, the warm evening drew massive crowds, littering the ground with picnic blankets, friends and families lounging together in the park eating sticky pork buns, wontons and soft shell crab from paper cups.
