I. love. Californian Redwoods.
I somehow managed to convince the group that we had to visit the Whakarewarewa Forest on our way out of Rotorua this morning, and we ended up spending a few hours wandering the silent forest, hugging trees and (in Peter and Namita’s case) going off path, bush-bashing to try and sneak up and scare us. They failed.
The Redwood forest was built as a timber trial in New Zealand, as pine ended up faring better in the climate. The Redwoods were left however, and grew into a 6 hectare forest.
